Dr. Sherri Alpert graduated Brandeis University with an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts in 1986. She earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Buffalo Dental School in 1990, and continued with a residency in Dental Medicine at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, including Geriatric Training at the Parker Geriatric Institute in New Hyde Park, New York in 1991. With a background in art, Dr. Alpert’s creative eye for detail and aesthetic have benefited many patients’ restorative smiles.
Dr. Alpert enjoys treating children and working with first-time dental patients who are apprehensive about seeing a dentist. She is the author of two books, Cassandra Gets Her Smile Back, and the newly released, The Attack of the Sugar Bugs, that aim to help children to relax at their dental visits. A member of Alpha Omega, a Dental Fraternity, and listed in Who’s Who among American Universities and Colleges for 1987 to 1988, Dr. Alpert remains active in community organizations including, Southern Orange Dental Study Club and is Vice President of the Orange County Dental Study Group. She is also a member of the American Dental Association and The Ninth District Dental Society. Dr. Alpert is also a fellow in the International Congress of Oral Implantology. When not practicing dentistry, she enjoys painting, sculpting, cooking, photography, and writing, as well as exhibiting her artwork and sculptures.
Dr. Alpert is a working artist who shows her work in galleries around the state of NY. She does portraits in bronze and oil paintings.
